Conversations in the car on the ride to school
Prologue: Miranda had balked at going to school this morning after her full fun weekend. She wanted to see Grandma. And Paul. And not go to school. I pointed out it was a school day and everyone had to get back to work.
Mom: Well, Uncle Paul is in the airplane already.
Miranda: Why?
Mom: He had to go home. He is flying home.
Miranda: Why?
Mom: Because he wants to see Aunt Alana. And he has to go to work. He lives in California. He has to fly in an airplane to get to his house.
Miranda: Well. he has to leave the airplane outside of his house.
Pause. Giggle.
Miranda: Because airplanes can't go in the house.

Miranda should see John Travolta's house. She would understand.
